Nature journaling workshop with Alex Boon
Have you ever considered keeping a nature journal? It's a great way to connect with nature, learn to slow down and observe, and improve your creative skills at the same time. Join nature artist, environmental scientist and nature journal educator Alex Boon for a morning workshop walking along the beautiful River Coly, then returning to the studio to discuss and draw from what we’ve found.
You'll have a chance to see Alex's nature journals and ask questions before trying it for yourself. A sketchbook will be provided for you to use and keep. Bring your own pencils/pens.
Group size 6 people max.
Summer workshops will be held outdoors with some time in the studio as well.

Anna Brewster - ink and watercolour workshops
Found on the Seashore workshop - We’ll be using ink and watercolour to create a pebble painting that features all the interesting things we find here on the Jurassic coast. We’ll look at choosing colours to mix, drawing fossils, stones and sea glass fragments to create a unique artwork.
This is a wonderful workshop for anyone who loves mindful, peaceful painting and would like to create a special artwork for a loved one - or perhaps for themselves! This workshop is suitable for all abilities and levels of experience.
Local landscapes workshop - this is a three hour workshop that will begin with the group getting outdoors (only a short walk on level ground) to spend time sketching our beautiful local area. Returning to the studio, we’ll have fun working sketches up into a landscape painting using loose and expressive techniques in mixed media.
This workshop is suitable for all levels of experience and all materials are included.
Ink drawing workshops - flowers
Working with dip pens, reeds, and india ink/acrylics, Anna will guide you through the beautifully mindful process of developing a looser, free-flowing style of drawing. Drawing freely with ink is a fantastic way to kickstart creativity with no pressure, and it’s great fun too! If you’ve ever wanted to just let rip and enjoy making big exciting marks on paper then this one’s for you. No experience required - all tools and paper will be provided for the workshops. Wear old clothes for the workshops as the ink can splatter! Group size no more than 7 people. The workshops will be held in our welcoming and airy studio, on the banks of the River Coly.
